An M4P file is an iTunes audio format from Apple Inc., most music you downloaded is .m4p or .m4a format. In fact, an M4P file is equivalent to an AAC file protected by DRM technology. Another format being similar to M4P is M4A, the one that is not copy protected. Both AAC and M4A audios can be freely copied for other usages.
In other words, the M4P audios can only be accepted by Apple devices. But, if you faced these questions, what should you do?
Some mobile devices don’t support M4P, like Samsung phone and even some iOS devices.
M4P has DRM protection; we can’t transfer and play it easily.
Some popular media players don’t support M4P too, like Windows Media Player.
It seems a good idea to convert M4P to a popular format which can be accepted by mostmedia players, like MP3.

As what mentioned above, M4P audios couldn’t be played on other devices like Android phones. It is because of DRM copyright protection. So what’s DRM?
DRM is a set of access control technologies for restricting the use of proprietary hardware and copyrighted works. DRM technologies try to control the use, modification, and distribution of copyrighted works (such as software and multimedia content), as well as systems within devices that enforce these policies.
Because of the copyright protection, iPhone users have to pay the subscription fee on annual basis to continually enjoy the music. As you stop payment, the songs will disappear from your library automatically. What’s more, although you have paid for the service, you are unable to copy them to other devices. To solve this problem, you can move back to Part1. Then I share the iOS users a method to download M4P songs without protection.
1.Type “filetype:m4p” into Google
2. There are lots of results, click them one by one until there is a pop-up window promote you to click it
If you have paid for the song, iTunes provide the function to convert the audio to MP3.
Step1 Open the iTunes on your computer and enter the General Preferences page from Edit option.
Step2 Pitch on General panel and select the import encoder of MP3 by clicking the Import Settings. Later pitch on the OK button to start the conversion. You can set up to simultaneously import and convert the songs.
