“I made a video by myself. I want to upload it to my company’s website. I embedded my video in the HTML code as usual. When I refresh the company’s website, I saw my video at the beginning of the page, but, I can’t play it. I have tried many times to click it, nothing happened. What are the reasons? How to solve this problem?”
Do you have a similar situation as Angele? I will show you how to solve this problem step-by-step in the following article.
Before we explain the reasons, I think it is necessary to figure out the principle of embedded video on the internet.
The embedded video in the HTML5 page has a video tag, and the video element supports three video formats: MP4, WebM, and Ogg.
MP4=MPEG 4 file uses H.264 video codec and AAC audio codec
WebM = WebM file uses VP8 video codec and Vorbis audio codec
Ogg=Ogg file using Theora video codec and Vorbis audio codec
The most likely reason why embedded video cannot be played is that the video format is not supported by the web page.
So, how to solve this problem? The easiest way is to convert your video to the MP4, WebM or Ogg. I sincerely recommend you choose MP4 format.
MP4 is one of the most commonly accepted and best-compressed formats online. When it comes to uploading videos to websites like YouTube or Vimeo, MP4 will have a faster upload time due to smaller compression than other formats like AVI files. What’s more, most desktop media players will support the MP4 format.
It will be an easy thing about converting embedded video to MP4 as long as we find the right tool. Next, I will introduce f2fsoft Video Converter for you.
